Original Game Cover
Recently, I discovered a color photocopy of the cover for the New World Computing release of
Inherit the Earth: Quest for the Orb. This is only version I have that does not
include any of the text, logos, etc. that appeared on the cover.
Alicia Austin was Talin's choice for the cover artist,
and he had to convince New World Computing not to use one of their in-house artists for the cover.
You may ask, "Why doesn't the Wyrmkeep Entertainment release of the game use this cover?"
Well, New World Computing directly paid the artist, so there is some question as who owns the publication
rights to the work. In any case I'm sure that displaying of the art here qualifies as fair use.
Update: Below the scan of the cover art can be found a picture of a poster that
New World Computing created using the cover art and some commentary about said poster.
Artist: Alicia Austin
While looking through my storage unit, I discovered an old poster created by New World Computing
to promote Inherit the Earth at E3 in 1994 (I think). A scan of the poster can be found below. The text
is hard to read, so I have transcribed it. (Yellow text on a light-colored background? Design check please.)
The most amusing bit is "Huge 3-D Maps" — things have changed in 13 years...
